One of the biggest struggles many soul-led entrepreneurs, coaches and therapists have to deal with in building and growing their business is overcoming imposter syndrome. That voice in your head that says “Why would anyone listen to me?” or “Who am I to think I can help these people?”

So what happens is they often look around for another course or modality to train in to give them more skills, believing it will help them become more competent and confident.

Does this sound familiar?

But imposter syndrome is a reflection of self-doubt, not a lack of ability.

The value you bring to your clients lies within your skills, talents, experience and wisdom. You already have that!

Of course we can all learn and grow and add to our repertoire but you can still serve your clients right now with what you have.

It doesn’t matter what level of business you are at right now, imposter syndrome will always pop up as you expand and grow. Do you not think that the most successful business owners like Richard Branson or Elon Musk have never doubted themselves?

Of course not. They were just willing to move forwards regardless.

The more you own this value within and take action despite the little voice in your head, the more confidence you will gain.

Remember, the biggest battle is always on the inside.

“If there is no struggle, there is no progress” ~ Martin Luther King, Jr.

The best way to do that is to focus on how you are helping others rather than focusing on yourself.

And if you need a lift with this then here are some tips:

  • Write  a list of all your skills, experience, things you’ve read about, challenges you’ve overcome, things you’ve achieved and are proud of.

  • Read through testimonials and comments from those who you’ve helped, clients or otherwise
  •
  • Create a daily affirmation like: “I am an expert in my field, and my work changes lives.”  Say it  out loud every morning to boost your confidence. Put it on stickers around your house so you see it regularly.

An imposter is someone pretending to be someone they are not (often for personal gain).

That’s not you. You are here to help others whilst doing meaningful and fulfilling work based on your gifts.

Don’t let the voice in your head stop you.
